The memory of a saint always lives on in people's hearts. This is also the case with Father Cimatti, who was called "Japan's Don Bosco."
For this reason, after his death, there was a strong demand, especially in Italy and Japan, to begin an investigation into his beatification and canonization.
When the new chapel of the Salesian Seminary in Chofu was completed on October 4, 1967, Father Cimatti's body was moved from the Fuchu Catholic Cemetery to the crypt without opening his coffin.
Speech by Cardinal Seiichi Shirayanagi I believe that Father Cimatti truly lived the spirit of Don Bosco. He was very active in his work and had great judgment. But at the core of it all was that he was a man of prayer. His prayer left an impression on many people. I have seen him pray. Modern society is in need of holy people. This is especially true for the Church. The Church needs to bear witness to God's love not only through words, but also through the way we live our lives. In that sense, Father Cimatti was truly a saint. For this reason, I sincerely hope that he will be beatified as soon as possible. For this reason, if you receive a special grace or a miracle occurs as a result of praying for Father Cimatti's intercession, I believe that reporting this to the relevant parties may speed up Father Cimatti's beatification.
