I reply to your last letter. First, I have prayed and will continue to pray for your exams. Now,
‡@ I've been thinking about your exhibition for a long time. I've been helping out by sending as many photos as I can and by sending natural specimens to Father Tonelli every month. For now, I'm not in a position to travel much, so I've just been sending what I have available. It seems that travelling doesn't do much unless you have the essential tool of words. The plants, insects, butterflies, etc. are generally very similar to those in Italy, with some small differences. However, volcanic rocks, fish, etc. make wonderful specimens, and I would love to try.
‡A`‡C (omitted) ‡D The Italian lira's exchange rate against the yen is between 10 and 12 liras, meaning that it takes 10 Italian liras to make 1 yen. ‡E I am grateful that Father Calabria (from Verona, canonized in 1999) has asked me to pray for us. This is wonderful! I need everyone's prayers. ‡F There's no need to rewrite the letter you send me. It's a waste of time. Don't worry, I can read it properly. (...)
You say you put the 25 lire your benefactor gave you in the letter, but when I opened it, there was nothing inside. Next time, write his address as well. Got it? By the way, unfortunately, the lyrics you sent me aren't suitable for music...Finally, do as you are told: trust in Mary, work and pray for me.
I embrace you with all my heart and bless you@@@ Father Cimatti
