Knowledgeable about natural sciences
Father Cimatti, who earned his doctorate in natural sciences from the Faculty of Agriculture, showed a deep interest in nature throughout his life. In Italy, he published articles in the Agricultural Magazine every month for 15 years, covering all topics related to agriculture. The editor-in-chief testified that "his articles were loved for their specificity and clarity." In addition to agricultural textbooks, he also wrote three guides for farmers.
Father Cimatti said, "Nature was created by God, and through it we can understand God's wisdom and love."
When you visit the museum, you will be amazed by the fossils, minerals, plant and insect specimens, and many other materials related to nature. He compiled two books on the classification of the flora and fauna of Miyazaki Prefecture, and in 1938 he presented one of them to the Emperor. In return, he received ten seaweed specimens, which he wrote "To my beloved Valsalice" and sent to the Natural History Museum there. He wrote the family and Japanese names of the specimens himself, and also sent them to many museums in Italy. Many of the rare fossils and minerals in the museum were sent by his students from all over the world.
